Jeox, As for Kudzu, it is not legal in most states (if not all?) I'll have to check on that.
And, a bump!

thats what I thought..Thanks though. :)

Sucks - kind of like snakeheads not being legal lol

I have chosen my location, and it is absolutely PERFECT! Now all I need to do is:

1. Figure out how to get a phyto-certificate to get all these plants into Canada. Has anyone done this before?
2. Startup funds - ANY and ALL help would be immensely appreciated. I would even willingly do a small loan - I just want to get this thing off the ground.

Hoping to find some help on here. I have come to see you all as a "family" lol... Thanks guys.

Did you get your business license yet? You can research/obtain it yourself or you can pay a fee and have companys online do the leg work but it costs you more out of pocket. You still have fees if you file the forms yourself but it does cost less. Decide whether you want to be a llc, inc, etc. Not sure if you've done all this yet.

Did you look to see/contact your local small business association? I would contact them and tell them you have a physical location so are looking for any help they can provide. Again sometimes they can lead you to grant programs or very least make suggestions.

If you weren't looking at a physical location and staying small time then I wouldn't stress the business license but with a physical location and doing alot of sales per year it's better to get one and stay out of trouble. You'll have to start charging tax though it will solidify you as a real business for the long term.

All this is costly for starting up but IMO if this is a long term/more than selling a few plants til they run out it's a sure thing you'll need the license and read up on laws/taxes/etc.

Contact the local paper and place a small ad telling them to call you or leading to a website with lists/pictures of what's available.

As for the phyto-certificate start with searching high and low on the internet, then go to calling other business'/anyone who might know.

Hey Cichla - awesome info, thanks!
I do not have the license yet, as I have to get it once I arrive there. It is not local to here. I have actually started the process of getting my Phyto. a few days ago, and am going through that as we speak, as well as trying to find housing for myself (and the fish) so that I don't sleep in the car LOL
Thanks again and I'll read up on the other things.

Bump! Donations needed Thanks
