I just got a 6ft 125 gallon tank with a fluval fx5. I was wanting yall's opinion on stocking. Would the following work:

1 red devil
1 jaguar
1 texas
1 green terror
1 convict
2 jack dempseys

lose the red devil and the jag ,the rest will probably work

A 125 is a great tank for a male Jag.

Sorry don't really think it would work. I mean it could because anything's possible, but more than likely no. Devil's are notorious tankmate killers and are often times best kept by themselves. Convicts are also pretty aggressive so even on the premise of getting everybody small the con's can still make the situation hard to pull off. As for the Jag they are piscivores so when they put on some size they may try to eat some of the smaller convicts. Plus Jag's are also fairly aggressive for Parachromis so they can become overly aggressive toward their tankmates to the point of killing them. It's better to just choose a fav between the Devil and Jag and if you try a comm. try some dithers you wouldn't mind losing. Just my humble opinion.

Take out the RD and Jag and get some sort of Vieja?

And like others have said, having and RD or Jag in a community type setting will more often then not result in dead tankmates.

Ok so i gotta make a choice between the red devil or the jag, they are both small juvies. The red devil is a little ***hole right now. He takes over his territory and attacks any fish near him, kinda cool little guy. The jag is the most skittish in the tank, he always hides behind the intake and hardly ever comes out. Which one would u keep with the other fish I have mentioned?

The red devil is a little ***hole and will turn into a huge ***hole over time lol, it won't work. Maybe keep the jag but over time it prob. won't work either.

You can easily have a Jaguar in the 125 with a Texas and at least a Jack Dempsey.I know those two cichlids can for sure defend themselves against a Jaguar, but the Convict will be a trouble maker, cause the one I have in my 125,is a pain in the butt, with the texas, green terror, and severum. Not saying a Jaguar is a sissy, but I use to have one with my Oscar, but the Oscar and the Jaguar got into a major fight, where my Oscar beat the living crap out of the Jaguar, such a shame I had to remove the Jag too, such a smart cichlid.A Jaguar will choose its spot,I say if you had a cave for the Jaguar,it will come out when he or she feels more comfortable enough,to explore the tank.
