opinion on raphael cats?

I've had Loaches get stuck in crevices and not be able to get out but none of my 4 Raphaels (knock on wood). I've got lots of driftwood in all my tanks. They hang under in in places but they're just as likely to hang out in a rock cave.

ill most likely get a juvie, like 2", and grow it out. how long do you think it will be till it reaches 6"?

given enough space and food, they can grow VERY fast. Mine shot from one inch to five inches within two or three months!

None of my 4 ever had nitrates over 10 and they've always had plenty of food to eat & only grew from 1" to 5" in 2 yrs. The guy who said his grew fast must have fed him steroids :-) I've always heard they were super slow growers.

i generally overfeed just a little bit so the plecs have something to munch on after the lights go off... i think if i get a raphael cat it would grow from 2" to 5" in a few months... well, now i just need to make another cave for its future hideout!:D

I have a raph and he's fun -- very active, swims all over, voracious appetite. The only "complaint" I have is that he makes it tough on sand sifting cichlids. Any food that hits the sand has about 3 seconds before it ends up in my raph's belly.
