Looks like an amazing fish if the one in photos above is a good example of a Red Texas...

That Red Texas is certainly very beautiful, but by no means typical of the ones that are usually for sale. A specimen like that is extremely hard to come by.

It is insanely hard to find a Red Texas that beautiful. Most SRT look very little like that red one.

So like I said, that would be a good example rather than a poor example.

Yes definitely, I guess I misread your post. I thought you meant, did this one look like a typical SRT, in which case I would say no way.

ive always wanted a red texas, great great looking fish

a really beautiful fish
i have one but isn't anywhere close to the any of the 2 showed here
anyhow he does have a nice little bump on his head but the coloring is not that very prominent and the pearls aren't that many
but he was a rescue which had lost his tail and being constantly stressed
and i am happy with his progress thus far
got him at 2" and now he is 4"+ and he was almost white when i got him but now he is more of patched red and white and a few pearls are visible too
