Purigen's only downfall is that it doesnt last the six months that they say it does.
I dont know what "good" things it pulls from your water, but its polishing abilities are second to none. I am adding 100ml in the bag to my media reactor.
I have used several brands of carbon, and never been as happy as theirs. First off, its clean, you dont feel that you wash half of it down your sink, its not breaking down, it doesnt get packed with muck...I dunno. I love the stuff. Switching it out every month...wont use the phos stuff until it looks like I need it. Purigen is going in soon though.
