Cascades are great budget filters. I am currently using two 1500's on my 120g. For the money you really cant complain. I got mine on-line for $120 a piece and they have been running for a good year and a half with no problems.
My 1500 has been great so far. I use the spray bar, but I take the end cap off to make it easier on the pump and it sort-of creates a whirlpool effect, which helps to pick up the poopies.
I use ceramic rings, bio-balls, and some marineland filter floss that you buy in the big sheets, cut to fit. I just wring the filter floss out and rinse with the water I siphon out during my water change when it gets dirty, and its good to go again.
i got the 1500 model on my 90.its been running almost 4 years full time.the only things iv had to change on it is the seal on the head unit an soon the propeller due to it wearing out
