Ok guys/gals.

I got too spooked and sold my GATF for fear that he and the Armatus would not become fast friends. Now I am begining to wonder about the rest of the crew in the tank. Here is how it boils down right now. Bear in mind these guys are in a 450g tank 7'x4'x2' approx.

5 - Pacman Cats - 5-8 inches
1 - Tigrinus - 6-7 inches
1 - Silver Aro. - 6-7 inches
1 - African Aro. - 26-28 inches
1 - Armatus - 3-4 inches
Planning on using 10-12 red tailed Chalice (not sure the proper name) for Dithers.

Im sure things will be fine right now, but I suspect I will eventualy lose the Silver to the Armatus. Do you guys think the rest will do ok?

Thanks,
Chris

I've seen armatus(actually a bunch) + silver arow.. that was in japanese book though..

Those red tail chaleus I think are normally more often sold under pink tail chaleus btw.

I think the pink tail chaleus's would become food cause they are a somewhat skittish fish and the armatus will not put up with a smaller darting fish. The big aro should be fine for life and the pac man cats are pretty docile and stay on the bootom most of the time. IDK about the rest. But you see alot of rays with armatus.

Thanks for the feedback.

It is kinda my intention for the Pnik Tails to be a fall back food source just in case. I'd rather lose one of them than any other fish.

Im not feeling worried much for the African aro as it is already larger than the Armatus will ever be. I have a hard time thinking that the Armatus would cause it any harm. Due to the size difference, the behaviour, and the african just in general doesn't fit the profile of what I have heard Armatus attacking. Africans are VERY thick fish.

My main concern at this point is for the Tig, and the Pacmans. Hopefully having them all togther at such a small size will help to influence the outcome......

yea...
i wouldnt worry about the african aro too much.
but theres still a chance.
the pacmans and tig should be fine.

That was my next concern. The Armatus is in a grow-out tank right now. I think I will hold off untill they are a bit closer in size. My Pacman has yet to hit anything very large at all, and I have transitioned him to mysid shrimp and beef heart mostly. Hoping to get him on massivore soon.

First Id worry about the pacman cats eating the armatus even the tig at 6-7" could down a 3-4" armatus. Then its bye bye chalceus, then bye bye silver aro. Its possible that even the armatus will punk on the afro. Mine at 6" killed a 12" silver!
