Opinions on paylakes

Isn't most paylakes holds non-native fishes that they bought out of the state? I know white catfish and tilapia got stocked in the paylakes for fishing purposes.

Not around here that Im aware of. Mostly big cats and carp and small channels for kids.

The one I've gone to a few times in the last year stocks just natives, blues and shovels, and a second lake just for farm raised channels, their website says they plan to get redtails and a few others in the future, but I'm still waiting to hear word on that one

Redtails? They must outta of their minds!

im with jworth if they wanna breed channel cats and toss little ones in there by the hundreds so be it, but don't ruin the ecosystems for the rest of us. It takes absolutely no knowledge or skill to go to a paylake cast in and catch pre-fed fish. It's fun just don't mistake it with any kind of sport fishing

I never fished a pay lake I've been to one or two, not really my thing but I've never heard that these lakes being stocked with wild fish.....

ALL of the ones around here are stocked with big flatheads and blues from local rivers. In fact, a couple of paylakes have been busted because they were offering bounties on wild caught flatheads from the rivers. Its a serious problem. Between people doing that and setting limb lines many of the waterways around here are nearly depleted.
