Don't get me wrong.....I have nothing against you personally, but what you say is contradicting from 1 site to another. Yes I agree partially on what you mean, but I think it is more regarding people going off the topic about your previous breeding attempt rather than your current. Regarding the mad scientist thing....it was not in anyway meant as a negative comment or anything of that sort. Meaning using a more exotic breed of flowerhorn rather than your ZZ female. You did ask what people thought and they just gave you their honest opinion. I would have said the same, to use a kamfa female or KML female, even a KKP rather than a ZZ female, but the hating began on FHC.
Nothing wrong with a ZZ female, but many traits such as finnage and stuff tend to come more from the mother, so we would suggest another strain over the ZZ female. At the end it will be up to you and what you want to do and what your happy with. I'm sure some fries will turn out well as not all of them turn out no matter what strain you use. But if both parents are of higher quality, then chances are better.

I just did not agree with your statement regarding FHC. There are many great people on the site and a handful of bad apples, which you cant help as they are some in everywhere.

Moving on, Just breed your male with whatever female you want. Its your fish. I'm pretty sure other people would like to buy some fry from you if that pair were to breed. "if you are big ballin like you say you are" haha I'm definately not big ballin but have been looking for a better female, I cant seem to find many females up for sale I know there are some on aquabid but not sure if I like any of them that are small enough..Are there other fish bidding sites?

#4 is awesome! Too bad I am broke college student who only buys Minnesota local. I wouldn't mind having a decent kk female. Maybe I will have to try and make one. Been in the game for a while now and still not sure what strain I like better zz or kamfa. they both have plus and minus attributes. The zz is so well developed and most are fertile but kamfas get crazy unpredictable in how they look! I wonder what the price difference is 5 years is going to be like? It's only uphill on the possibilities that we will start seeing in the states. From what I hear we are like a third world country in the flowerhorn game compared the east.

Like others said, Aquabid is an option but at times a bit tricky. Meaning scammers, false fish, recycled photos of fish, and at times just bad experiences. Some reputable sellers out there, but even with them things go wrong from time to time. The best is to request for more photos (different angles) of the fishes from seller on AB. Get as much info from other peers on their experiences with particular sellers. That way the chances are better.
Additionally nice females come with nice prices of near $300 and over. Lakefish had 2 kamfas not too long ago but the price was just more than what I was willing to pay to gamble with.
Like stated earlier, in the same situations as you so for now I am trying to breed my males (Kamfa, RML's, ZZ RD) with a KKP and/or SRS females hoping that I can produce my very own female to cross back to the father. This is where the mad scientist phrase will refer too. Trying my own experiment to try and produce my very own ideal female.....and seeing how the fry turn out. Also hoping 1 of my Mickamfa fry (now juvies) is a female as it looks like it.
For now you can breed your KML to the ZZ female to test his fertility if not done so already. Sell off the fry and use the $$ to purchase a higher quality female for future breeding projects. That is my third option if above doesnt work out.
