I got everything at the local hardware store. My tank has 2 bulkheads on the back glass about 2" off the floor. I used pvc down to the pump then I used a mixture of flexible tube and pvc between the filters.
The bio-wheels I use were called pro 60's and I'm not sure if they sell them anymore.

Now that I have a tank full of juvi cichlids I would agree that the footprint is more important. It would give more room to create hiding places. But, for an arrow I would disagree to some extent. Mine never liked the bottom of the tank, he wanted open space I think. So if your going to aquascape with rocks and wood and such a higher tank may be better because it will allow you to still keep a good portion clear at the top where the arrow likes to be anyway. But like I said either tank sould work just fine. All just personal preference really.
