Have a new 8x2x2 tank coming in soon. And was thinking I should upgrade from a Silver to Asian. I'm leaning with either a green or rtg, as I'm not much a fan of the reds. The RTG is a little out of the budget for a poor college student. Should I settle with the green? or hold out for the rtg?

Get the green, no reason to stress yourself financially. Good move getting away from the silver as it would have outgrown your new tank anyway.

Hold out for the RTG you'll regret no doing it after you have the green. I have an RTG and i wish i had held out for an Xback.

If you can hold out the rtg will be more rewarding to grow out than a green. Not saying a green is not a beautiful aro, just a rtg, gold, or reds color continue to intensify as they age and grow.

Green is around $300 while the RTG is over double. And the Red is around 1k. This is for an arowana around 5" in length from a LFS that's building my tank. He gets them from a supplier elsewhere. Haven't looked to much into the golds. How are they out there in Toronto?
