There are 2 places in Toronto that specialize in Aro's they are both owned by Asian's so if you pay cash you can always bargain. I hear Big Al's has some too here but i've never seen...

Anyway I've never seen any green aro's here.... but the prices lately for RTG 799, HBRTG 1000+, rose golds 1700, Xbacks around 2000-3000 and reds range from 1700 to 3000 depending on length and color again. But some of the price for these aro's are for fish ranging from 9" to 15"+ or even adult. So you already see the aro's potential for color etc... for a 5" fish you dont get to see much of its color but if you do see an aro with alot of gold being 5" you should probably pick that one. I would wait for the 5" batch of aro's to get older so i can get a better look at what quality RTG i'm buying or buy a fish that is 9"+ at reasonable price. Thats what I would do though....

what about yellow tail.

I would go with an RTG, don't settle on a Green Aro. You'll be happy you waited.

By the way what are the prices like in manitobe? For gree, rtg and gold ? How about rose golds?

Everything in Winnipeg is more expensive than Toronto. There was also a price war in Toronto recently but what I heard was that the aros the one shop was selling were not so nice and they were being blown out.

There's only one shop in Winnipeg that sells asian aros with any consistency. Fish Gallery. His prices vary and yes cash talks. The owner is asian so he has some decent connections. I bought all three of my asians aros fro him. I could have gotten them cheaper through group buys or mail order, but I like to see what I've buying up front and so I don't main paying a higher price if the lfs is willing to bring them in. I debated flying to T.O. but when I look at the expenses I wold have to incur, it would make the price essentially the same and I'd rather give a local businessman my business.

Have a new 8x2x2 tank coming in soon. And was thinking I should upgrade from a Silver to Asian. I'm leaning with either a green or rtg, as I'm not much a fan of the reds. The RTG is a little out of the budget for a poor college student. Should I settle with the green? or hold out for the rtg?

If you're talking about Fish Gallery, he's got a bigger green in the store that is nor for sale because it belongs to the owner's young son. And it's a fine specimen. Compare that fish to an RTG and then decide if you want to save a few more bucks and get a gold. ;)

Do you remember which store you were looking to come check out???

Do you think the price for Aro's would come down some more over the next year or so?

Prices have dropped for all aro's... a lfs owner that comes to service our tank at the restaurant says that i got my RTG for a real good deal and that aro prices use to be a lot higher. But the price has come down quite a bit. If prices get really low I'ma sell RTG and trade in for Xback :cool-1: :asianarow :headbang2
