OK so i have had a 55 gallon salt at my dads house and i put just one large Gulf Toadfish (Opsanus beta) in there. He grew to be about 8 inches from 3 inches in a couple of months. He ate 10 greenbacks a night. He was huge! and he had bright red eyes and pretty large teeth for his size. But after a while he just kept eating everything so we had to get rid of him. He was the ultimate predator fish though.

Soooo i was thinking, i have a 55 gallon in my garage that is empty with sand in it. But this time instead of making it salt i am going to make it fresh. I am just going to use a HOB for them. I have read up on these guys and they said that they will spawn in totally fresh water but i think they would do better with a little freshwater salt in there tank.

I will post pics as i set it up.

Oh and i get them from a area that is already brackish/salt so i will drip acclimate them. There also very hardy.

If anyone wants to chime in and throw in some info that would be great also.
