It seriously is. Most LFSs that I know of don't even have lids on half thier tanks. See Aros every once in a while at some of the shops I go to but they usually commit suicide by jumping out rather than being sold....
Smallest tank it would go into at my place is a 4 by 3 1.5 tall acrylic tank WITH lids....LOL
yea aqualand in des moines said I'd get 60 bucks store credit and he would sell it for 200! lol all he has are 55 gallons too..... he has a venzulean pike I've been eyeballing for awhile now but idk how it would do with my bichirs.

I fancy thier $400 Blue Aros. LMFAO.....
I bought a black gar there. Was about 12-13 inches. Never turned around in the tank. I dug the color. Took it home and hucked it in my pond. 2 days and it was no longer black. I moved it a month later to my 300. Guess what? ONE eye was gone. Completely healed. Pricks didn't bother to disclose there was no eye on the other side that you couldn't see since it never turned around....
Jokes on me. Haha. Best $50 I ever spent. Haven't went back since.
I think I have misjudged this situation. Good luck on rehoming it with Aqualand..... They'll probobly take the Pike back too after it doesn't work out for you.

lol! I actually seen that same gar with one eye missing! how odd, small world..... give me a couple days to think about it, at least you could give it a good home and all
