Likely an Eastern Spiny Softshell. It's a female, and she is in pretty good shape. She was a little banged up when I got her, but she's been healing well.

She ate some market shrimp when I first got her, and she's had that plus live feeders so far.

I'm not trying to make a lot of money from her, since she was a rescue. I just don't have the space to give her a nice home.

$35 or trade for interesting gar, dat, pike, bass, bichir, musk/mud turtles, etc. Just let me know what you got.

Pickup only, 40204 (Louisville, Ky). I may be willing to drive a short distance, but it will cost more.

(These pictures are from when I first got her. The marks on her back have healed quite a bit since then, although they're still visible.)

Cute soft shell, does look to be eastern soft shell. I had a spiny soft shell a few years back that I really loved. He got some kind of disease and died. Haven't owned a turtle since. Good luck on sale.

How are these with other fish? Is it possible for them to be kept with large cichlids? do they need basking areas?

Well I am really wondering if I can get away with housing it with a 10" Jag and 11" Freddy. I will look around for more info on keeping them with fish, I am very interested though.
