Will it be ok for life in the 125gal since it reachs 50"?
 
It should be ok for quite sometime, as it is a slower grower and doesnt need as much space as a heavy-bodied fish such as a pacu or RTC. (much like larger snakes who dont need as much space)

125 should be more than enough for it.
