Ordered an FX5

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Congrats on the purchase but you should have purchased the Eheim 2260.

No way, i am really happy with this filter!! Also it will come in handy if i want to upgrade.....

Dont worry about what others have said about it being to much flow...I had an fx5, 405 and an AC70 on my 55 all at the same time for over a year before I upgraded, and there were no problems at all.

There was no chance for any problems to even occur with that kind of filtration.

Thanks for the support, and i am soo happy about it and cant wait for it to come in, but the main reason why i bough it was noise, since the tank is right next to my bed i needed something that was verry quiet, no humming splashing or grugling and i hoped that this would do the job, i will post pics of setup when i get it. I then will switch my 204 to the other side of my bed where my 20h is which is currently running a god awfully loud Aqueon 55. 2 tanks, 2 filters, nice and simple and hopefully deadly quiet. The 55 stand is enclosed but the back is open while the 20 gal is totally open, hopefuilly none of this will be a problem. As for media, i plan on filling the top tray with dollar store sponges, 50 micron felt and maybe some carbon/ammonia blend. and then the bottom two trays with Seachem biomatrix, the flow runs from top to bottom right? and i have heard that the sponges around the outside act as enough mech filtration right?

2ft pc of 1/2" PVC...1/2" 90....1/2"cap...drill holes in the PVC pipe for the spray bar......The rubber pc from the FX5 fits perfectly over the 90 elbow......2.00 bucks and 10 minutes of assembly...
