Today I ordered 2 adonis plecos listed as XL. We shall see just how extra large they are. Great prices though. Of course more L200s, but only 2 as they were only listed as ML. Also in the fray will be a electric blue jack dempsey. Posting pics mid week.

Are you gonna crap yourself if it comes in at 32"? How many L200 is that now? You should be well on your way to a breeding colony. Better keep a kiddie pool near by just in case!

I'd definitely soil myself if it came in 8" bigger than the max recorded size.

L200s 3 large male adults, 1 medium adolescent, and 2 on their way in. I did have a spawn of L200s, but it was shortly before the crash.

1. Hemiancistrus or baryancistrus?
2. Pics? If you manage to obtain any documentation of the spawn, you'd be the first to have spawned b. demantoides and, if you subscribe to the assumption that L-128 is in fact h. sub, then you'd be the fifth to confirm a spawning of them.

There have actually been several documented spawning of b. demantoides. I spoke to someone that bred them not too long ago. It has not been intentionally done yet however.

I am ordering them, and as such there is no way to dictate b. demantoides or h. subviridis.

I actually had a recent discussion with J. Ekstrom on the subject, as I was looking for advice on how to work out a possible L-128 breeding setup... apparently, there have been no actual DOCUMENTED occurences of spawns, while several (or rather, one or two notorious) plec "breeders", which names I currently keep in mind, have claimed to have spawned this species, with no evidence of fry nor clutch. I have been around plecs for all of this and half of the last decade and to my understanding, despite the distinct variants of L-200 having been known since the endowment of the number, neither have been documented to have spawned, save in the last 3 or so years. If you do end up obtaining some spawning pics from you and your friend, you would blow much of the loricariidae community out of the water.

I'll be documenting mine very closely as soon as I get the females. I wasn't expecting the breeding to have happened already in my last tank. I did have a spawn, however I didn't document it very well. I had gotten to the temp raise, and then had a filter crash, which killed both females, and father, which was later able to be revived. My friend that bred them wasn't expecting it, nor trying. He is not a breeder at all, but had the right scenario for it to happen. I went over to verify it, but the young were already quite large. He hasn't had another spawn since, however he is also a fairly novice keeper.
