Orino breeding age?

I believe Cichla temensis takes the longest to sexually mature, and that's at 14 months...so I assume C. orinocensis is the same as C. ocellaris @ about 10-12 months. There's documentation on the Internet of the ages at which some Cichla mature. You'll have to "google" it.

Mine bred for the first time at 2 years of age, but killed 3 females during the year previous, so....who knows

Sometimes i read it is size related and sometimes i read it is age related (fishbase > monoculus> females).

Trust me, as long as the water conditions are good, temperature stable, food source adequate all species do so within 10-12 months including Temensis. I am talking about wild conditions, or at least mud pond.
