I recently got my hands on 3 orino peacock bass and one Meta Rio Orino.

Today I saw one of the orino get stuck in the canister filter tubing. I immediately turned off the filter and the orino escaped with some missing scale and a split dorsal. I took a very close look and there is still a very small webbing attaching the two spikes. The orino is 2" and my question is will the webbing regrow and attach the dorsal again. It's late right now so i'll post some picture tomorrow if my camera can take a clear picture of the webbing that's still there. Please if anyone has experience with split dorsal give me some information. I just dislike the split, it makes it look unattractive...

I have had that happen to one off my fish but it wasn't a peacock bass it was split all the way. so im guessing it will grow back but im not sure

It will grow back but may be a little deformed if it's bad. Pics would help. i had a kel get his entire tail fin eaten of by some O's and it grew back.

melafix will help speed the healing. i've had mine split the dorsal and grow back

Itll be fine. No need for melafix. Just up the salt and temp, keep the water clean.

Thanks guys. I turned the heater up to 86 and kept dosing salt for every water change(daily). I see the webbing is growing bigger now so yes! he will have a fully recovery! Thanks guys! Will update with pics tmrw
