I feed mainly live... if I run low then they get shrimp.... I usually buy my feeders by the pound from a local tackle shop. I buy about 10-15 pounds a week and gut load them with a good flake food... I only feed everyother day... sometimes less. I like to keep them small for as long as possible. They get good colors when they mature, and size doesn't make them mature...

Not feeding them every other day... they probably eat less in the wild...

what is the logest time you have starved them?

Maybe 2 or three days... I usually have shrimp on hand when the minnows run low!

cool.... i might try some minnows too.... but i heard a crazy story about a guy went to bate store and end up wipe out all the stock in the tank....

Never had a problem with bait shop minnows... they usually turn 'em quicker than LFS... so they don't pick up the parasites...
