maybe theyre starting early....:ROFL::grinno::naughty::naughty::naughty:

Oh My GOD... THANK YOU...... for saying it..

Are they precocious, too?? I asked Joey R1 regarding to my FH spawned at such as small size and young age... He blamed on hormone use at LFS. (but his sweet oranges are ALL nature :ROFL::ROFL: ).
Those FH eggs actually were about to hatch before I sold them. I could see two black dots in their eggs.
NOW, look at these two teenagers... what is going on??
Question: if they are being territorial, why are they making "nest" mouthing the sands and rocks away...??? :WHOA::WHOA:

I was wondering that, too.... don't you think that's NOT considered as "NORM". I have never seen two cichla share territory while they are not in spawning mode........?? :naughty::naughty:

Baby Orino's will go at it at 2"...LOL.. I find it a hit & miss w/Orino's. At times you can get a tankful and 1 will be so dominant that it will kill the others.

It's a debatable situation. Roll the dice and roll with. Just monitor the situation before you wake up one morning with a few dead Kelberi's =-(

I feel Orino's should be the last introduced in a tank already occupied by other PBASS. Also, PBASS that are atleast already bigger in size. This way the pecking order would already been established in the tank and feel it helps the agression knowing he's the new kid on the block... not to say he won't want to move up in ranks...

G/l luck with it...

Mike,... my male orino is too small for your BIG DOMINANT FEMALE...:ROFL::ROFL::ROFL::ROFL: The moment you put them together, you will end up a bling bling widow left in your tank and one addition to your freezer.... :cry::cry::cry:

Haha. You know how kids are these days. lol. :P

As for territorial aggression, maybe you can rearrange or add some additional decor to mix things up. It may break up any territory that has already been established and claim things down for a while. That's what I've done with my South American cichlids in the past and its worked for a bit. After a few weeks, might have to do it again... maybe it'll work for cichla as well.
