Heres a few shots of some juvenile Ven. Orinos of mine. They are approx. 6" in these pics. Hope it helps out. Great looking cichla btw!

Do orinos get mohawks? If not they appear to be orinocensisXmonoculus hybrids, with maybe some occellaris mixed in(look at the gleeming red eyes on the third pic).

HMmm... dun think there's a mohawk... probably the angle of the picture... and I dun think orinos get mohawks... even though the females' heads are usually rounded.. I dun think orinos will ever get mohawks.. have not seen before.. I may be wrong.

Im pretty sure all pbass have mohawks lol.. they just display it on ocassions, sometimes depending on their mood i.e agression, feeding, breeding etc..

all cichla get black mohawks.. its a sign of maturity.. you honeslty need to take more picture of all 6 and alot of pictures of each!

mohawks are the front part of the dorsal fin with the harder spines.
