Ornate Bicher Prices & Info

Hey everyone just wondering what should I expect to pay for a 6-9 ornate Bichir?? Also I have read that they can be aggressive, any recommendations for tank mates..... Thanks

6-9 Ornates or 6"-9" Ornate? They can be aggressive with each other and sometimes with other Bichirs, but I have mine with a mix of other Bichirs and it's fine. However, it's the only Ornate out of all of them.

I have to pretty big ornates and they don't fight. They are pretty pricey depending on your location.

I think $30-$40 is about average depending on size.

$40 sounds good. i paid $25 for my 6-7 inch, fat senegal. i also paid $6 for a little petsmart senegal of 3 inches. of course, senegals are the lowest-priced bichirs.

i bought 2 6" orantes for $40 per fish but places around here have 2 -3" specimens for $89.99

DEPENDING ON AREA 40.00 FOR A 6-7 INCH IS AVERAGE BUT I FOUND HERE IN CLEVELAND OH. I HAVE SEEN LARGE ORNATE 12 ,18 INCH GO FOR 50.00 TO 60. 00 SOME STORE JUST WANT TO GET RID OF THEM. TANK SPACE AND FOOD BEST TO SELL THEM THEN KEEP THEM . SEE MOST PEOPLE DO NOT HAVE LARGE TANKS FOR THESE FISH WHEN THERE THAT BIG GO FIGURE.

i 2 have to ornates. both range from 7" to 9". they are mixed with my 10 other bichirs. they are pretty mellow. i bought each for $18.
