mine eats watever is on the bottom of the tank, this includes cut up shrimp, feeder fish, sunken pellets and even whole shelled peas. if it doesnt want to eat try puttting the food in as you tun out the light and the other fish cant see it and it has a chance to get to the bottom of the tank.

congrats on the ornate :headbang2 , mine eats grass shrimp, rosy reds, brine shrimp and a vegatable mixture from lfs that is very good. sinks to the bottom and all five of my bichirs love to eat it. the senegalese will eat the most followed by the first ornate i got and then this morning the two new ornates ate it also followed by my delhzi.

question: can earth worms be apart of their and what about baby crawfish, also how can i get my hands on those food pellets and what about crickets?

questions abound please answer as best yall can, thanks! :clap

can earth worms be apart of their diet ? Yes they can just be sure the worms come from a safe source ( no pesticides)
baby crawfish should be fine as long as they are babies
Pellets the petco near me carries them but a good LFS should carry them or be able to get them for you-Anne
