Frozen Ghost Shrimps, Tilapia, and Pellets. This is my second one and the first one I had started off at 3" I had it for 6 months with only a 1" growth. They don't seem to grow very fast for me.

Weird. Mine gets a bunch of fry to eat. They really like the live food, you just have to be careful.
 
Cool way to show the growth progression. I really like the sen in the video for reference. Great fish.
 
Since were discussig ornates I thought I'd just ask if anyone else has noticed that ornates have a tendency toward bloating?

Thanks. I've had that sen for so long it doesn't grow anymore. It's pretty much the same size through the whole montage. :ROFL:

not true bloat, but just that after he eats, he is puffed up and looks bloated and is slow to digest

hmmm mine do something like this when they eat alot. They just get little lumps on their sides. I don't think its anything to worry about though.
 
Very cool! Reminds me of my ornates growth. Got hom at 4" april 2008... now he's about 17".
