  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
hopefully its nothin major and he pulls thru for you

I would feed something like krill/shrimp/worms so if he has air bubbles that will clear them and if he keeps getting them because he is hungary they will stop. Something with bulk that will clear anything in it's stomach.

Sounds like it could be constipated. feeding him something with "bulk" could just bung it up even more.

It could just be serious gas.
Feeding pellets that have "gone off" can cause this.
The rotten pellets produce excess gas in the stomach.

You could try an epsom salt bath.
This will flush it's system.

I haven't run into this problem myself. Hopefully, like others have said good water parameters and diet will help heal him. Hopefully, no permanent damage was done. Polys are fairly tough.

I will do the epsom salt bath tomorrow. This is kind of a last result deal. I am worried that he is running out of time.

I have to get him to eat something period first lol.

I really hope nothing permanent was done. I bought him as 13-14 inches and he is more like 8. The previous owner said he has had him for 3 years. That right there screams poor water conditions and diet to me. I have had one get to 8 inches in 4 months in the past.

I want to thank everyone for all the help and input again. I really do appreciate it. I wish I wasn't in this situation.

I think of it like this if the poly is going down it's not going down without a fight. Thats the reason i love them so much and it is so addicting because they don't die off in like 2-3 years like mollies etc...
