My palmas is very active and hands down the most aggressive eater. He's hungry all the time. I really enjoy his temperament and i think you could easily keep one in a 75.
Sweet cool. Now if i could find that one Ill purchase it. How is the growth rate on the Palmas??? I know some fish like Oscars grow fast and others like certain pleco's grow slow. Bichirs are they slow or fast growers??? From peewee's statement above im guessing slow
Actually they're pretty fast there are a few species that grow slow but you'll average 4-8 months to triple in size or less
i kept an ornate for years in a 65g he grew to about 17inch. he was very beautiful but very evil. i didnt realise how much of a predator he would be until i seen him with a baby discus in his mouth the size of a 50p! he lost his life by jumping out the tank while i was at work. i have never been so gutted.
i bought another one years later, never grew as long but was at least double the girth and was placid. guess it really does depend on the fish. my local shop has rope fish. im sooooo considering buying one today
