Ornate vs. Delhezi

Ok so im planning on getting my first bichir and want to hear your guys stories about these two types, which ones you think are better (prettier, more active, etc) i was looking at ornates but some delhezis iv seen online have some gorgeous stripes to them so now im not so sure (delhezi are also a bit cheaper lol) so yeah lets hear your stories and of course pics are ALWAYS a plus:)
 
I currently only have one small Delhezi but in the past i have had both. Dels are smaller (14" vs 2') and the ones i had were more active than the ornates and would always be out. Looks are totally up to you, but i think ornates are alot better looking. The ornates were more aggressive and would try and eat any fish that was even close to fitting in its mouth. I have also heard some ornates dont really tolerate any other ornates in the tank but thats not always true. If i had to only pick one of the two though, i would take a delhezi.
 
cool thanks for the advice, yeah i read that the ornates tend to be a bit nippy as well so may save some money and go with a good looking delhezi i like that they are more active as well
 
I personally prefer Endi-but in this case I would say Ornate. If you do decide on Delh. dont get tank raised-markings suck!
 
yeah i mean i def like the ornate markings but i also like the contrast on the delhezi, where can i get wild caught delhezi from and how much are they usually? can get an ornate from rehoboth for 50 with shipping included so if couldnt get a wild delhezi for cheaper than that would go with the ornate

oh and how much do endlis usually go for and how big do they get if bigger than an ornate than would be too big for my little 125g lol

I would get a whole bunch if I was ordering off the internet. Shipping for 5 isn't much more than shipping for 1.

My delhezi (~6-7") tends to hide in his PVC cave a lot. I would have an ornate if the tank was bigger.
 
oh ok i will ask him for a quote then on a delhezi but i dont think i would get more than 1 as i wont have the space unless i get a couple extras grow them out a little and then sell them.....
 
its a 125 if i go with delhezi could probably get 2 but with ornate could def only get one

ok so i dont get it when i asked about price for ornate like a week ago he said 50 shipping included, now when i ask about the delhezis he says 25 each plus 30 shipping, why would the delhezi cost more than the ornate? (granted only by $5 but still)
