Ornate with no fins part2 w/pix

well I finally got around to taking the pix of the ornate I got for free cuz it had no fins. When I first brought it home there was red blotchy spots on the nubs that would be his fins, but now the red is gone and it looks like the fins are going to grow back, (I hope) sorry the pix are soo blurry and you cant really see this too clearly but, what do you guys think?

It's kinda hard to tell but there is something sticking out where the fins would be. It looks like it might grow back still. He looks a little bit on the skinny side but he does have nice colors though.

any chance you could macro a close up?
Looks like all thats left is the muscly lobes.

For now i'd suggest clean water, and if there are still any open wounds some melafix/pimafix

I will try new pix tomorrow in some daylight then it will be easier to adjust the camera. for now it looks like fins are what is growing from his nubs but the pix dont show it very well. but it could also be just healed up scar tissue I cant really tell yet. Thanks for the replies.

I think it will only grow again if the muscles and the base of fins aren't lesioned!! But it will take to much time!! Many years ago, people use to cut kinguios infected caudal fins! I've never had a good response, they always died because was to difficult to mantain the water clean!!

For what its worth in young bichirs i have seen the lobe regrow perfectly now if its a constant that all bichir will regrow the lobe I can't gaurantee it but it has a good chance-Anne

seems the fins are growing back, hope that it will fully grow back, maintain good water quality to avoid infection

I paid a whole zero dollars for him, the store owner gave him to me cuz I've been a regular for about ten years now.
I'm an LA Kings fan but becouse I'm a goalie on my hockey teams I'm also a huge fan of Marty Brodeur. Marty rocks I'm soo glad that Patrick Roy is finally retired I was soo tierd of the media making such a big fuss over him, he always had great tems playing in front of him and was way over rated.
