Thanks Cohazard... waiting for my bro to land tmrw hez got a nice slr with lens will post up some nice pics of them.... they have put on a lil bit of meat as well :)

Cool man, looking forward to the shots, that was a cool capture with the ornates mouth open. If you've got the same reflex with the SLR you should get some good shots. :)

Those will be it's external gills.

As for sexing them, at 6" there is no guarantee of sexing by anal fin, so don't count your chickens just yet...

That said, if you post clear pics of both the Ornates anal fins I (and others here) can give you a pretty good opinion.

Polys are born with external gills to help in getting oxygen. They loose them as they mature. Sometimes they come back when they're still small and then disappear again.

Thanks James... yea pretty much figured after TGM's reply... did some searching on the external gills.... wished they had that growth permanent.. too bad they lose it...

i have no idea bro... i tried to observe it for a bit.... i guess they were movin but again there was current... so probably i need to shut the filter and take some closer pics of it and post when i get home later....

but if at all those are worms is it bad?.... im wondering what may have caused it... ive been doin regular water changes... thought for worms to come it shld be stale water rite....
