That's a good looking fish. Is it better to use sand for polys?

I've heard it's better to use sand for poly's because they have a bad habit of swallowing small rocks or gravel and it messes them up real bad or can kill them. Don't know how much truth that has to it but I use sand in all my tanks regardless so that's what they get. Thanks again you guys. I guess I have a few years to go before this Ornate is a real monster but I prefer to raise him/her up myself instead of buying someone's trade-in.

i wouldn't say its a 'habit'. its not too common, but it does and can happen, so sand or very fine crushed gravel is safer.
