O's Laid Eggs!!!!

They are all in a 125 gal tank and the funny thing is that the O's are just guarding the eggs by blocking them into the corner they are in. The other fish seem to be interested but other than that none of them are trying for the caviar delecasy. I have been waiting for a long time for this so I am really excited that it happened. I probably won't keep the new oscars so when they are big enough and if you are in the chicago area and want some oscars let me know.

well just a little update, it looks like I have either two females or just very unprotective parents because all the eggs are gone as of this morning. Which I guess is ok because I didn't really want a couple hundred oscar fry in my tank.

That sucks. Did you notice what color the eggs were yesterday? If they were white....not fertile.

well I think it was a combination of the yellow labs and the nicaraguense that did most of the eating because those were the ones that I saw picking off some of the eggs. but hey at least I got them to lay eggs!!!

My Oscars have done this 5 or 6 times now. They do the dance, lay the eggs, one minute they're there, the next they're gone. The eggs are always white though so not fertile. They're either two females or not mature enough to breed yet, they're only like 8 months old.
