Ive done this a couple times with peacock bass and Oscars and it’s never failed.I was thinking about getting a baby bass I was going to put him in my 125g with my 3-4in Oscar is this okay
I think a bass might be too big for a 125, but there’s types of sunfish that are bass-like that would do fine in a 125 with an OscarI was thinking about getting a baby bass I was going to put him in my 125g with my 3-4in Oscar is this okay
I think a largemouth gets too big for a 125 or an Oscar, I’d go with one of the bass-like sunfishLargemouth
I second the warmouth, I have one and he’s very entertaining to feed, and doesn’t bother anything except minor bickering with the green severum. His mouth lives up to the name as well, when eating he puts Oscars to shame.Personally I would recommend either a green sunfish, warmouth, or rock bass if you want a bass like fish to live with the Oscar long term. They all tend to Max out just under a foot in length (some exceptions) and have a similar attitude to Oscars. Some act like puppies, while some can be shy, while others can be aggressive. Very similar behavior to cichlids as well with how much they like to dig and rearrange plants and decor in the tank. If ya want one that looks the closest to a bass I would recommend the warmouth the most.
Here’s a vid of my warmouth, he’s not doing much, but you can see what he looks like, mine does have a slight deformity of his upper jaw tho, but doesn’t slow him downOk thanks
