OK here it goes. I have an oscar, BP, catfish, and 5 dojo loaches. The other day my BP (Hick-up) decided that this cave was his and became agressive to anyone that came near it and his throat and gill covers became very red. Then two days ago I woke to find little white eggs all over the front glass of the aquarium and then the follow day which was yesterday my oscar (Grudgetta) began to get very agressive with Hick-up the BP and now today I have had to put Hick-Up in a net. I guess I will have to find him a home. Also they are in a 6 foot long 100 gallon aquarium so there should not be a space issue.
Should I get rid of Hick-Up??? I could not stand to see him killed. He is missing lots of scales and his tail fin is ripped in several places.
However from all that I read before I bought my oscar I am not suprised. I knew that this could happen. I was just hopeing that it wouldn't.
I feel that hick-up in a way started all this by being mean to grudgette days ago. He chased her off everytime she got near the cave. He was not able to hurt her, but now that the table has turned she is able to hurt him. It is sad because they use to be such good friends. Grudgette adored and loved Hick-Up.
Meanwhile where did all those little white eggs come from??? I did research and the Dojo loaches whom are all full grown (one male and 4 females) should have red eggs according to two web-sites that I found and the oscar Grudgetta is only 3 to 4 months old but is 6 to 7 inches and my catfish is 6 months old and Hick-Up is 4 to 5 months old and is only 3 to 3 1/2 inches.
