The Oscar will grow alot faster than the JD. If you only have the 2 eventually they will spare off with each other. I bought a JD at 1in at the same time I bought a 3in Frontosa in June 07. Right now the JD is bigger than the Front - he is 6-7in and the Front is 5-6in. and Oscars grow faster. I know people always talk about overstocking, but I would get a couple of other fish, like a couple of silver dollars, some jewels so the JD and O can something besides themselves to chase around. If you plan on keeping them you will need at least a 100g tank.
