Try it if you want just have a plan B. Every fish is very different. Sometimes a peaceful fish can be aggressive and other times a aggressive fish can be even more aggressive then you think.
 
Currently my oscar is in a 125 gallon with a female convict,a Texas pair and a male severum. There really is no aggression except when he nears the female convict’s cave...then he learns the hard way.
