Hi

I just got a red Oscar and a Jaguar. I am feeding them flakes right now. I am buying them pellets too. I saw on a website that is it recommend to give live fish to a jaguar. Is that true ?

I know for a Oscar I should not feed goldfish.

another question. Does a green terror loses it’s coloration as it grows. I saw a pic on the web of a fully gown green terror. There was only the red on the tail left.

hey so i would not feed live fish to any fish as it could caause dieseis to them as to the green terrors there colors get 10 times beter when they grow as to the one u saw a have no idea

I feed my jags pellets, krill and earthworms. I have some convicts I am using to raise feeder fish for my jags, jd and carpintis. I would only use feeder fish I raised to guarantee they do not have parasites.

You should only feed live fish that you have raised yourself.
Agreed. I also generally find that if ya start feeding live food it can be hard to get the fish back to eating an artificial diet again. Personally I'd only feed live food that I raise and grow myself as treats rather then as a main diet.

Thats true with feeding live food. I have a hard time keeping my jags from just wanting krill at times. I am gone on weekends allot in summer so them having a day or two break from eating helps keep them aggressive for multiple items.
