Oscar and Turtle...best friends?!

So my girlfriend bought a red oscar about two months ago and now its only about an inch and a half big and its the most skidish fish ive ever seen. It never swims out in the open and it hides 24/7 either under the filter or behind this one plant in its tank. Then last week she went out and decided she wanted a turtle to put in the same tank....i told her it was a bad idea....she didnt listen...

so i go over to her place to come see the turtle and the dead oscar (so i think) and for some reason the turtle and the oscar are awesome tank mates?! since the turtle had been in the tank the oscar swims around the tank now and stays right up close to the turtle for protection?! its the weirdest thing ive ever seen and as far as i know the turtle hasnt ever taken a nip at the oscar... we'll see how long this friendship lasts!

haha I love stuff like this! Even if it may not be a "friendship" it's still very interesting how animals do things like this

thats like my tank right now. ALL of my fish school from end to end together, and its not due to aggression or anything

10" jardini, foot long oscar, 2 10" Jack Dempsey, 2 10" leporinus, 1 foot long pike cichlid, 1 4" green terror. the only two that dont school are the pleco and jewel cichlid

I have a Red Ear Slider turtle...in a 60g with Convicts and Firemouths....Turtle do good with fish they cant swallow..especially oscars...haha have fun....Turtles and Oscars are two very great pets with Great Personalities....
