Just recently aquired a pair of Tiger Oscars, (first time owning oscars) and I was wondering about behavior. Both are scooping the gravel substrate in their mouths and swimming to the other side of the tank to deposit it. Normally I would guess breeding behavior, preparing to have fry, but they just got in the tank. They were in a 40 tall for about 3 days (WAY TOO SMALL) I know but it was a temp. holding tank. (Water changes at least twice daily on that tank
). They're now in a 75, and are doing well. I assume they're male and female because they never fight/nip at eachother but rather follow eachother around the tank all day. I would assume they're still somewhat too stressed to be breeding, but am I wrong? Any other explanation for this behavior? Just playing around?
