Oscar being a bully

The thing is a divider is a good temporary solution but its not one that you can keep forever. At least I personally would not want a divider up full time.

Hopefully for you once you switch over to the 125 things will cool down a bit. It'll be a new tank for them both...
 
This is just oscars being oscars. In the wild oscars mark off territories of about 10' and defend them from each other. A male and female will usually get along but since they can't be sexed visually it's difficult pick one. Maybe you can trade one in for another and see if you can find it an acceptable mate. Oscars get along better with other species than with each other, though some folks have had success getting them as juveniles and letting the grow up together.

My Oscars are getting along fine (1 tiger and 1 common) but they did have a common enemy in the Green Terror to begin with.
 
i would put up a divider for now, feed the smaller one more and get him bigger, then when the 125 comes i would put them in at the same time. may or may not work but u could try it
 
The regular tiger oscar is about 5 inches long while the new guy is only 3 or so inches long.I'm really hoping that when i move them over to the 125 that they will be better off.If not i will probably have to get rid of the bully.Thanks for all the suggestions.
 
i have had good luck with three oscars rather than two. when i had two red my one red killed the other but when i started up my 100g i got two free 8" albinos that i put in their first then i added my 10" red oscar. The two albinos i guess from what i heard from the owner have always been together since he got them and the one with a bump on his head was defensive over the other albino but my red and the on albino fought for a few days and now they are like a school. they swim in a big pack. i also have a geo dicrozoster (which is pretty aggressive, it gets in fights with my female convict when i feed them), a female convict and a jack dempsey but i really dont have any aggression problems. This tank is easier than my other peaceful south american tank which i am still trying to start.:irked: but you could pull the bigger oscar for a few days then add him back but when you do start up your new tank put the smaller oscar in first then add the bigger one after a few days and you could also ge another one.:naughty:
 
Divide the tank and try feeding the smaller Oscar a little more to see if you can bring him up to a size, which he/she can hold there own before you remove the divide. I have found that Hikari Gold has brought out good color in my fish and helped them grow fast.



I don’t agree with the idea of adding feeder fish for 3 reasons
1) Can inadvertently add disease if you have not bread them yourself or quarantined them
2) Can make your Oscars only except feeder fish or live foods £££$$$£££.
3) Hole in the head is though to be caused by a lack of vitamins in conjunction with soft water and feeder fish will not supply your Oscars with a varied diet.

At the end of the day you may just have two fish which do not like each other. It happens all part of the hobby :)
