Maybe a bit of a silly thread.
But I was vacuuming, cleaning, and doing a water change on one of my tanks with a 10-12" Oscar in it...and 3 Gar (12-18"). Every time I clean this tank...I'm always a little concerned that when I stick my hand in there that one of the Gar are going to snap/bite me (just out of instinct or competition with the other Gar).
Whenever I cleaned this tank in the past...the 10-12" Oscar always tried his best to stay as far away from me as possible. I should have known better today that he was in a bad/aggressive mood...since he started attacking the siphon/vacuum hose as soon as I put it in the tank. About 30 minutes later I had to stick my hand in this tank to rearrange some decorations & an air stone device...and as I was doing it...my Oscar all of a sudden bit me on the back of my hand!
No damage done on the back of my hand...just more of a sudden unexpected situation! Guess I will have to keep my eye on this guy from now on!!!
