oscar crazy growth rate, unusual or normal?

I had a small oscar that went from about 3 to 7 inch in 2 months.
But 3 inch in 2 weeks? thats crazy. I still wouldn't worry about it though.

I've had one oscar, and he got to be 15" in 2 years in a 90G tank. I hated taking him back to the LFS, but I didn't have room for a bigger tank.
that's when I realized that fish will outgrow their tank.

Wow do I really underfeed that bad?.. 3 meals a day sounds nuts to me lol. I'm a once a day in the evening guy. No wonder your fish are growing fast! 3 meals a day and clean warm water= max growth rate for sure.

Mine grew from 2.5 inches to 11 inches in a year. They grew an inch a week then slowed around 7 inches but started bulking up. Good varied diet and bi weekly 50% water change and gravel vac.

All my oscars will sleep at like 30 degrees. They can get moody and mope around too. I have a male and a female and they are always side by side. Love my oscars, good luck to yours.

Imho your overfeeding your oscars. They only need 2 times a day max. If their pooping while eating they ate too much.
feed until their aggression declines every so slightly or at that age until their belly is just slightly rounded. Its better to under feed than over feed. The rest is normal & your wc schedule is great
1" a month is normal & growth curbs at around 9-10"
