someone told me that Floyd's own father said the the fight should've gone to Oscar. lol father of the year hahaha

Yeah he said based on the point system, it should've (which I don't think is true seeing how oscar lost).

There has been a public rift between mayweather and his father, and mayweather sr's. heart was obviously sided with oscar.

ahh, thanks for info on sr. I've never followed boxing, except when Tyson's in the news. Only found out about the floyd/oscar fight because of the bashing floyd's been doing of the UFC and then the offer from dana to floyd to come fight their LW champion for 2mill.

Its all politics.. I think Mayweather Sr. said what he did because he needs a job from Oscar De La Hoya. He was ODLH's former trainer but he got axed when he asked for 2 Million as his fee when it came time for Oscar to fight his own son.

Mayweather won ( As expected by the majority ) but he was obviously roughed up like never before from Oscars punches. All in all it was a great fight... it wouldved been a snoozefest but im glad Oscar tried to be aggressive.

i actually think it was very close and could have gone either way, if it was not for oscar coming forward there would not have been a fight.
i dont think mayweather is as that great as he thinks he is, yes hes won all his fights and thinks he has nothing to prove but in my eyes he needs to be in some wars to be a true great and in this fight he was not willing to do that.
now as fit as de la hoya was i do think he has lost that little well of energy you need in the final stages to step it up, i do think that well has run dry and when he went to find it in the last 2 rounds it was not there anymore.
if it was then he would have won by a couple of rounds easy.

Mayweather has convinced himself that hes one of the greatest of all time. I sincerely believe that he has the natural ability that 99% of boxers will never even come close to and thats his speed. Aside from that , he also is a defensive wizard he fully personifies the science of the sport ( to hit and not be hit ).

But as an all time great? He takes potshots and runs , and he handpicks opponents ... he cant even come as close to Sugar Ray Leonard's stature ,much less Sugar Ray Robinson. :screwy:

Very true. I don't like the guys style. It works, but it's winning by numbers, not by boxing.
