Qucik question..did it look like a white layer over the eye like he could barely see???also did he eat any feeders?

No problem...

He had eaten no feeders... basically has been fed Hikari pellets, some frozen food from time, etc. Think the last time he had feeders was earlier this year.

His eye didn't have a white layer over it, just looked like it had a ruptured vein or something.

His condition basically was that he was sunk at the bottom, no visible fighting marks, cuts, or anything like that. He looked like a healthy fish besides the eye to be honest. Then he started to gasp for air, that seemed to go down after a few days then he died.

He will be stress if you move him. Stress is the worst thing.
In my opinion you should try melafix and waiting 2-3 days

Very sorry to hear he died, you did your best for the little guy and its just very unlucky!
Ive found with oscars that when you move them to a new tank they will generally sulk and lie at the bottom of the tank for a while breathing deeply... pretty much all the oscars ive had over the years do this when moved to a new tank and its most likely stress related.

Dying I can only guess was due to some sort of internal damage he took to get his eye like in that state. If there was internal bleeding or a hemorrhage of some sort that could be the culprit, but I seriously doubt it was due to you putting it in that 14G, if anything that wouldve helped him calm down a bit.

80 degrees melafix and as little light as possible and pray or hope if y
