What else should I be feeding this tiger Oscar?
So, my tiger Oscar who is roughly 6inches long eats quite a bit of pellets, feeding both aqueon shrimp pellets and Omega one medium sized cichlid food ( http://www.omegasea.net/products/nutrition/cichlid-pellets-floating).
I'm noticing that when it eats a lot, poop looks like pellets still, even though they were all eaten at feeding.
Is alone in the tank, parameters are always normal and temp is 75-78 since it's starting tool down in so cal, heater will come on soon.
Tank is 100gal with pfs and pothos plants. Filtration fx5 with bioballs, charcoal, and pvc things, and an ovation 1000 submersible for some circulation

Oscar's will swallow pellet's whole, and looks like they were passed out the way they went in :)

ure oscar is showing great man.. cheers to tht :) keep feeding the food u have now but try some more live food like worms and insects.. he would love tht :)

My Oscar's diet:

Omega One LG cichlid pellet
Omega one cichlid color pellets
Hikari cichlid color pellets
Tetra cichlid sticks
Tetra Jumbo sticks
FD krill soaked overnight in Boyd's VitaChem
Giant mealworms
Earthworms
Peas (thawed, cooked)
Broccoli (thawed, cooked)
Carrots (thawed, cooked)
(last 3 basically leftovers from out meals!!)
Small pieces of apple (not liking Granny smith though!!)
Koi food, blueberry flavor

I do feed every day except Sunday....all my cichlids get fasted on Sundays & that's also when they all get 90% WC's.

FYI....charcoal (carbon) is unnecessary & can in fact hide potential problems. I would just use polyester filter fiber in its place.

Heythank you all :) ill have to try some more foods!

Poop looks like pellets, because those pellets were not digested properly.

So would investing in septic powder like I've seen in your posts before be good RD? or feed slower?

Adding a probiotic powder isn't going to resolve the digestibility issue, you need to feed slower, and possibly feed less at each feeding.
