i have now had my Oscar for 1 year and she is 8 inches and is a lovely color

Great fish with loads of personality. I had two that were inseperable but one day the filter on their tank crapped out and I had to rehouse one because my backup tank was just big enough for one. Horrible decision but I kept the one I had owned a little longer. Since then he has grown a lot and has become very aggressive. Just not the same since his mate had to go but I love him as a pet...despite the bites.

Lazy, My oscar is super lazy.

He just likes to float at the top or on the bottom.

He's been like that since he was a baby

Messy too, likes to destroy food and bathe in it

mine currently is a 4 month old red tiger and he is laid back but not that messy just very independent and always discovers new things that comes in the tank and that is in the tank also

Very lazy, always hungry, but one of the best personalities. Heard they are one of the smartest cichlids there are actually. but downside, ide keep it pretty much single species with them. Of course there ARE tank mates, but if you want to see them act in full potential. Single was my fav. Oh and they are not timid at all after they get comfortable. Stick ur finger in there during feeding time.
