Treats are unnecessary for the fish, and is mostly for the owner. NLS is all you need.

(This statement is for fish that don't have special dietary needs)

So I can't give a worm once or twice a week as a treat?

Yes definitely!

The fish isn't going to die if you feed flake or pellets it's entire life. I feed bloodworms once a week and shrimp once a week just because they love it.

I give my small oscar HBH Shrimp pellets and frozen bloodworms and krill, and my larger oscar gets feeder fish once a week, and a regular diet of hikari massivore pellets, bloodworms, krill or tilapia (rotating, of course)

prawns chopped up, silver sides chopped up, blood worms, earth worms, sop long as they come from a clean source... oscars are garbage cans , they will eat anything...avoid feeders they are a sure fire way to have a sick oscar

unless they're coming from a clean, known safe source, or you're breeding them yourself.

My big guys been getting feeders for the last 2 months, no issues at all. all depends on the quality.

An Oscar your size will love scallops. The small ones. And cut them in halves or fours. Pellets are staple yet boring.
