Oscar for gt/firemouth?

I think you've probably already accepted that the two oscars arent going to change course and should remain separated, so that's half the battle. I recently re-worked one of my 125 gal tanks around my tiger oscar. I only get single fish from any species to avoid direct competition (and/or mating aggression to rest of tank). All fish are generally less aggressive as species and smaller than than the O as well (but won't fit in his mouth).
One of those species was FM. I started with 3, and 2 proved to be quite aggressive (particularly to each other). I realized it quickly and returned those 2 to LFS for store credit. The FM were all about 3-4" to my Oscar's 10". Oscar never gave any of the FM a second glance. Different body shape and not a threat due to smaller size.
The GT will be a crap shoot. If they are similar size then its much less likely to work, and GT's seem to be either totally passive or quite aggressive.
Three cichlids I am currently keeping with that Oscar: 3.5" rainbow cichlid, 4.5" honduran red point, and a 3" blue acara (not the electric blue, very similar in appearance to a GT). Going very well thus far. You would have room to add any of these in your tank I would think, given appropriate hides etc.
I think I won‘t trade with my friend. Try to give away the red tiger and let the albino heal. Maybe after that, thinking about the suggestions of biguebs

I have found that Oscar behavior can be tricky. An oscar that is picked on by another oscar is not necessarily a docile oscar. It could be. I have found that oscars do well in a non aggressive tank. An example - earth eaters.
Ultimately it can and up a trial of balancing types of fish but be ready to remove fish during the process.
