I just had a few quick questions about Oscar genetics regarding the strains that are available nowadays, Lol.
Does the lutino/albino gene behave the same way true albinism works? (AA crossed with aa makes fry carrying Aa)
Will crossing a red Oscar with a wild type create red tigers? Or will the fry be split between red and wild type?
Is the veiltail gene dominant, recessive, or what?
I have a wild Oscar from the everglades that I hope to cross with a veil "albino" Oscar and would like to know what to expect from the fry if i decide to go through with it...
My goal is to try to get veil oscars with stronger genes and overall better/stronger/cleaner finnage. Both albino and non albino at some point, but that'll probably take at least 2 generations based on my understanding of genetics.
Thanks to anyone who can help!
